Once you get the basics of shooting, you might find you will enjoy taking your .22 out and doing some plinking.
To me, plinking is shooting at unofficial targets.
I also feel that shooting at signs or property of others is irresponsible, and reflects badly on shooting as a sport.
Still, it can be enjoyable to shoot at cans, vegetables, jugs, and etc..
It's best if you clean up after yourself. PLEASE leave the great outdoors as you found them....if not better!
The point is that plinking can be good practice. Being informal, it presents more of a natural shooting forum, and can help to develop your offhand skills.
